Billy Joel : RARE 'Mary Travers and Friend' Interview : 1975
This is an interview with Billy Joel on an episode of a syndicated radio show from the mid-1970s, 'Mary Travers and Friend.' (Mary Travers was one third of the popular folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary.) The episode is dated March 25, 1975. For copyright reasons, I have deleted all of the music from the episode. Music included not just that from Billy Joel, but music from Yes, Paul McCartney, Jackson Browne, and more. What you are hearing is just the talking/interview portion of the episode. I retained the built-in advertisements in the episode, because I think they give an entertaining peek into the media of the mid-1970s. Billy's most recent release at the time was his 'Streetlife Serenade' album, and the title track is played at the end of the episode, but Mary and Billy also talk about 'Piano Man.' Interesting interview! Enjoy! -
