On the 82nd anniversary of the assassination attempt on Hitler on July 20, 1944, a formal oath-taking ceremony took place at the Bendlerblock. Speeches were given by Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and the writer Dr. Navid Kermani. The oath-taking ceremony was led by Lieutenant Colonel Maik Teichgräber, commander of the Guard Battalion. The German Armed Forces Band from Siegburg performed under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Timor Oliver Chadik. The recruits came from the following units: 10th Company of the 26th Parachute Regiment from Merzig 8th Company of the Air Force Training Battalion from Roth 5th Company of the Guard Battalion from Berlin Training/Protection Company Wilhelmshaven I of the Naval Base Command from Wilhelmshaven 1st Company of the 171st Logistics Battalion from Burg 3rd Company of the 383rd IT Battalion from Erfurt 4th Inspection of the School for Military Police and Staff Service from Hanover The video shows the recruits marching in, the honor guard marching in, the inspection of the honor guard (Minister of Defence, Inspector General and Dr. Navid Kermani), several pieces of music, short excerpts from the two speeches, the actual oath, the national anthem and the European anthem, the march-out of the honor guard, and the battle cries of the recruits' units.
