BANDUNG. KOMPAS. TV - In Cianjur, a former village head in West Java was arrested by police for embezzling 322 million rupiah from village funds. The suspect claimed he used the proceeds to pay debts. Police arrested the suspect, identified as RH, at a boarding house after being on the run for more than five months. In front of officers, RH confessed to embezzling 322 million rupiah from village funds in 2019. The suspect's actions came to light after police followed up on a resident's report and discovered several abandoned village development projects, including irrigation and waste management projects. According to police, RH also marked up accountability reports for several village development projects that used village funds. The suspect admitted that the proceeds were used to pay debts after being defrauded by someone in a project matter.
