Meet the Fabulous Filipino Brothers & Sister!
The Fabulous Filipino family, aka the Basco siblings, have all been working in different parts of the industry for 35 years. From acting, to writing, to producing, Derek, Darion, Dion, Dante, and Arianna are working towards more Filipino representation in entertainment one project at a time. Dante Basco, known as the voice of Prince Zuko in The Last Airbender and Rufio in Hook, has been producing Asian American films for the last ten years. And now he’s directing the “Fabulous Filipino Brothers,” inspired by his family’s story and starring himself and all his siblings. Adding to the Filipino representation, Dante Basco tapped Filipino musician AJ Rafael score the film, and had rapper and singer Ruby Ibarra and Jay R hop on the Fabulous Filipino Brothers soundtrack. To talk more about their movie, we brought them into our sala to get their hot takes on working together on this project! #FabulousFilipinoBrothers #OneDown #SalaTalks #TeamBasco 0:00 - Working on The Fabulous Filipino Brothers film 0:24 - Dante Basco directs a film about his Filipino family and culture 1:17 - The Fabulous Filipino Brothers and Sister 2:06 - A real Filipino family on set of a Filipino family movie 3:46 - Filipino representation on The Fabulous Filipino Brothers Soundtrack 4:01 - Support Filipino movies and stories in entertainment One Down is also on Kumu!
