This video has been provided by member company Sims Metal. It shows professional metal recycling in action - multi-million dollar infrastructure captures and processes metals for recycling. Of particular importance is the shredder, which extracts metals from mixed media to ensure that all metals are removed and can be recycled. Shredding also reduces the size of the non-metal waste material which helps to reduce space requirements when wastes are sent to landfill.
