Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple - Full Pro Band FC #43
after 8 (?) sessions we finally did it, it still feels surreal knowing we finally put this song to rest. for me it came to a point where i thought we would never finish this grind and that we would forever carry the burden of having choked at the last 8-ish seconds of the song but this session was incredible, our mental was better than ever and the runs were flowing so good, it finally felt like we were making some real progress after stagnating so hard. shoutouts finn for stepping up to the task and killing it on his first session for the team, shoutout bran for staying awake and bearing the hunger and especially huge shoutout to the man JDK i love you dog, he kept his part hella consistent this session and helped keep the mental strong. we still had a few chokes past the guitar solo this session but man the resiliency that we showed was unreal, so happy that I got to share this fub and moment with this amazing group of people and i genuinely wouldn't want to have done with anyone else ♥ -- nuke It's really hard to put into words how difficult this was and how amazing this fbfc is, but I will try to explain. We started attempting this FBFC around September 2025? Nuke and I had just FCed individually for the very first time and we were very eager to try going for this (a very banger disc song). For those who don't know why this song is difficult, Pro Keys has a couple of very difficult bits that made this song to be FCed by so few people ever. The first big obstacle for the entire band is Pro Keys at 2:45 during the 2nd chorus. This was the biggest miss point, and getting past this part was made everything all the more stressful. There are a couple more bits in this song that stick out for Pro Keys, here at 3:36 and 4:54 these are NOT glissandos meaning you have to play each and every note on time and this engine for keys makes that quite difficult. Finally, there is the solo at the outro. Some tricky rhythms and grace notes, but most importantly that set of notes at the end is real killer for anyone trying FC on Pro Keys. Thankfully we didn't lose any fbfc runs to that specific spot so shoutout nuke for being hella consistent at everything but chorus 2 lol. Pro Bass is also difficult in its own nature, but in my opinion less difficult than the Pro Keys part. This song has the single highest difficulty jump between Pro and it's 5 Lane counterpart in the entire game & DLC. It is rated Warmup tier on Bass but Impossible tier on Pro Bass. As the song deals with a lot of variations, it makes for a very tricky song to master, it's difficult fretting isn't communicated the same way in 5 Lane Bass which is why it's tiered way lower for 5L; it remains to be one of the easier Impossible tier Pro Bass songs. The first difficult section for Pro Bass is the guitar solo which comes AFTER chorus 2. I did miss quite often here but the last few tries I had mastered it. The other stressful parts for Pro Bass are Verse 4 and the Outro (which is just more variation and some quick notes that are easy to miss), I did lose a lose a few runs up to these points as well. And huge shoutout to @bluebro827 as well for drumming with us for all our previous attempts. We had some very good runs with him, and our 2nd session was definitely our closest ever. Between the 3 of us we have all choked at the outro or very close the outro countless times so your efforts will not go unnoticed, thank you for the ultra-consistency and incredible patience with us. And what a debut for Finn, before this channel was a thing I would try to pro full band with him back in my rpcs3 days and now he's finally here steamhappy Anyways enjoy our current Magnum Opus of an FBFC, we've kinda been on a tear lately damn -- jdk The first FBFC I've been in here ever since I joined in March (technically august 2024 if you count RPCS3 Score snipe (lol)), and its already the greatest RB accomplishment I have ever been apart of. The sheer consistency these three had was baffling, I have no idea how they do it tbh and It most likely involved witchcraft! anyways, the problems I had with this chart weren't actually that bad for drums at least, the outro is awkward yeah, but the most trouble I had was with the drum roll at the end of the guitar solo. The speed looks awkward with hyperspeed and the only way I could hit it consistently was by hitting the snare as hard as possible and praying. This run was one of the few where the outro gave me trouble, and I almost dropped my sticks twice which wouldve been horrible, I look forward to achieving more with these absolute gods with my mediocre drumming. -- finn don't let them lie to you, this took place in a single session and only took 3 tries and we only missed the first two times because the song was so easy that we fell asleep -- bran Pro Keys - @nukeissa Pro Drums - @dextimint Pro Bass - @jdk_1329 Harmonies - @brandeceased
