Bonjour Friends, How have you been ? This week in this new video, I’m taking you with me on the cute island of « Île-aux-moines » in Brittany. I celebrated my birthday there; it was a great day with beautiful landscapes and Good company. I also bake a pear, almond and chocolate cake to celebrate the first birthday of this channel and blow one candle to celebrate. Thank you all so much for all the Support. Hope you will like this new video, 🏡🌧️ Ps : English is not my native language so I want to apologize for the mistakes I will surely make in the subtitles of this video 00:00 Preview 00:49 Spending my birthday on a island 07:08 Baking a cake to celebrate the one year of this channel 14:58 Blowing candles to celebrate Chocolate and almond pear cake : 🍐🍫 200g Chocolate chunks at 70% 125g Unsalted butter 5 Tablespoons of espresso or strong coffee 4 eggs 150g sugar 125g almond flour 75g flour 10g baking powder 2 pears Flaked almonds for decorating Preheat the oven to 180°C In a bowl add the chocolate cut in pieces, the diced butter and the espresso and melt everything in a bain marie. In a big bowl mix the eggs and sugar together until frothy. Add the chocolate mix to the eggs and sugar and mix together until uniform. Add the almond flour, then the flour and baking powder and whisk until you obtain a smooth batter. Put the batter in a buttered and floured tin. On top add the pears cut in halves and the slices almonds. Bake for about 45 minutes at 180°C, the cake is ready when the pick of a knife come out clean from the cake.
