Before Building Men became a program serving young men across Syracuse, it began with a deeply personal question: How do you help a young man become a man when you’re still learning what that means for yourself? Becoming tells the story of Joe Horan, founder of Building Men, and his relationship with Zac — his stepson turned adopted son. Through fatherhood, mentorship, healing, and trust, their story became the foundation for a program that has helped young men build character, purpose, integrity, and positive relationships for 20 years. This documentary is not just about where Building Men started. It is about what happens when a young man has someone in his life who refuses to give up on him.
