Valley Rattler Behind the Scenes - Light Up and Engine Preparations (Saturday 9/9/23)
This video shows everything from the first match in the firebox at 4:30am, to the train exiting the depot at 8:30am for the Mary Valley Rattler 10am service. Witness the lightup crew and enginemen at work preparing the locomotive for a days work on the Mary Valley branch line, including greasing, oiling the rods and valves, oiling and starting the Westinghouse air compressor, draining the cylinders, and blowing down the boiler.
