Juzgamiento de la Raza Francesa Blonde D' Aquitaine - TvAgro por Juan Gonzalo Angel
Twitter @juangangel Program: Blonde Agroexpo 2013 Faenas-.mp4 Aptitudes and Production Created in 1962 by merging the three blonde breeds of the Southwest, the Blonde d'Aquitaine has seen impressive growth in numbers: in the space of 30 years, it went from a regional breed to a national breed, and has even become widely internationalized. The Blonde d'Aquitaine's appeal stems from its various advantages: a large-sized breed, extremely docile, easy calving thanks to its fine bones and the long, straight-lined shape of the calves at birth. The animals are very well-built and distinguished by their rapid growth, but what sets the Blonde d'Aquitaine apart above all is the value of its carcass. Indeed, it has been established that the fineness of the bones and the low percentage of internal fat limit waste during butchering, and above all, that the proportion of prime cuts (hindquarters) is 5% higher on average than in other specialized beef breeds. The "Boeuf Blonde d'Aquitaine" Red Label was created in 1992 to promote this tasty, lean beef. The Blonde d'Aquitaine has very good resistance to heat and dryness, which explains its adoption in countries such as Mexico, Peru, Colombia, etc., where it is widely used in crossbreeding with Zebus. Thus, it contributes to precocity, conformation, and improved carcass yields for native breeds. Selection The breed benefits from its own bull evaluation station (Casteljaloux National Evaluation and Qualification Station), which supports the genetic program carried out by France Blonde d’Aquitaine Sélection, Blonde Génétique, and the selection company Midatest. Selection objectives are updated every 10 years to adapt them to the expectations of breeders and production chains. Currently, the Blonde d’Aquitaine selection program seeks to reconcile different types of production (purebred or crossbred) while preserving the breed’s breeding qualities. The priority objectives are therefore to increase meat production (muscle development), improve lactation aptitude, and preserve the breed’s shape, growth rate, and calving ease. The quality of the bulls proposed for insemination, both for their meat and maternal qualities, and the wide variety of qualified bulls distributed through natural mating are driving forces behind the program.
