We Did Thailands Lantern Festival Last Minute on a Budget (Yi Peng, Chiang Mai)

We flew from Langkawi to Chiang Mai, Thailand just to experience Thailands lantern festival budget-style, and honestly it all came together in a very last-minute way we didn’t plan at all. We found out you can actually still get tickets through a local hostel in Chiang Mai . (Stamp Hostel) It included transportation up to the event site, making it surprisingly doable even without booking months in advance. What followed was a mix of chaos, excitement, and a bit of stress trying to pull everything together last minute, but it proved that experiencing the Thailand lantern festival on a budget is possible if you’re flexible and okay with a bit of uncertainty.
