Orphan to Free Spirit! 🐾 Stormy the Wombat’s BIG Release Back to the Wild (repost with 🎶 fixed)

After nearly three years of bottle feeds, burrow digging, and belly rubs, today was Stormy’s big day: her release back into the Australian bush where she truly belongs. 🐾🌿 Stormy came to us as a tiny orphaned wombat joey, her mum tragically hit by a car. Since then, she’s been raised with round-the-clock care, wild adventures, and more love than most wombats could dream of — especially from our daughter, Ashlee, who’s grown up right beside her. This moment is what all the sleepless nights and hay-covered clothes were for. Ashlee, now a little wildlife warrior in her own right, helped with the release — no tears, just pure pride. She knows wombats aren’t pets — they’re meant to roam, dig, and live wild and free. Stormy’s bestie, Gypsy, made her escape last month and is already out living her best bush life. Stormy was ready too. Fully independent. Fully wild. Fully wombat. People often ask if we tag or track the wombats — but truth is, they’re burrow masters, and any tag wouldn’t last. We raise them strong and bush-ready, then set them free to live how nature intended. And now, Stormy is out there writing her own story — one that started with heartbreak but ended in freedom. Thanks for being part of this journey.
