Tomb Blaster POV @ Chessington World of Adventures

POV of Tomb Blaster, Egyptian themed interactive dark ride at Chessington World of Adventures. Tomb Blaster was originally a dark ride called 'The Fifth Dimension'., which opened in 1987. Riders were 'shrunk' and entered the wirings of a TV set, where they were guided by an animatronic robot called 'Zappomatic', to help him defeat the Gorgs... (some furry monsters, whatever they were doing there!). In 1994 the ride was re-themed to 'Terror Tomb', its story following a tomb raider. Then, in 2002, the ride opened as 'Tomb Blaster', the interactive buttons were replaced with light guns, the tomb raider character 'Adbad' was done away with, along with a great animatronic Egyptian mummy rock band, replaced by generic scenes and the LED targets we see today.
