TEDxGotham 2011- Matt Long- Power of I Will

TEDxGotham 2011- Matt Long- Power of I Will A NYC firefighter and Ironman athlete, Matt Long is the author of The Long Run. In 2005 while riding his bike to work, Matt was struck by a bus and critically injured. He received 68 units of blood, spent 5 months in the hospital, had 40 surgeries in less than two years, and has been in physical therapy since. Through his perseverance he accomplished the seemingly outlandish goal of completing a marathon. Today Matt Long stands as a living testament to what can happen when giving up is not an option. About TEDx In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
