টাঙ্গাইল মধুপুরের ঐতিহ্যবাহী আনারসের হাট গারোবাজার | Pineapple wholesale market🍍 Garo Bazar বাংলাদেশের "আনারসের রাজধানী" নামে খ্যাত টাঙ্গাইল জেলার মধুপুর উপজেলা জনপদ। মাইলের পর মাইল জুড়ে বিস্তৃত আনারসের সবুজ বাগিচা যেন প্রকৃতির আঁকা এক বর্ণিল চিত্রপট। টাংগাইল মধুপুরের লাল মাটি ও আবহাওয়া ক্যালেন্ডার জাতের আনারসের জন্য বেশ উপযোগী। খাঁজকাটা গাঢ় সবুজ পাতার ফাঁকে উঁকি দেয়া হলুদ-কমলা রংয়ের আভা মণ্ডিত মঞ্জুরি, যেন আনারসের বর্ণিল যৌবন কাল। এই ফল শুধু রসে নয়, পুষ্টিগুণেও ভরপুর। আর তাই, এটি মধুপুরবাসীর অন্যতম প্রধান অর্থকরী ফসল। টাঙ্গাইল জেলার মধুপুরে অবস্থিত গারো বাজার আনারসের জন্য বিখ্যাত একটি ঐতিহ্যবাহী গ্রামীণ হাট। বর্ষা মৌসুমে, বিশেষ করে জুন-জুলাই মাসে, প্রতিদিন সকাল বেলায় এখানে জমে ওঠে আনারসের জমজমাট পাইকারি হাট। কৃষকরা ভ্যানে, অটোতে কিংবা সাইকেলে করে সাজিয়ে ক্ষেত থেকে সরাসরি পাকা আনারস নিয়ে হাজির হন এই বাজারে। এই হাটে রয়েছে দুই ধরনের পাইকার—স্থানীয় এবং দূর-দূরান্ত থেকে আসা। স্থানীয় পাইকাররা কৃষকদের কাছ থেকে আনারস কিনে তা একত্র করে রাখেন, আর দূরের পাইকাররা সেগুলো কিনে ট্রাকে করে নিয়ে যান দেশের নানা প্রান্তে—ঢাকা, চট্টগ্রাম, সিলেট, রাজশাহী, খুলনা, রংপুর, ও দিনাজপুরসহ সারাদেশে। আনারস একটি রসালো গুচ্ছফল। এর ইংরেজি নাম Pineapple, আর বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম Ananas comosus। এটি Bromeliaceae (ব্রোমেলিয়াসি) পরিবারের অন্তর্ভুক্ত, যার আদি নিবাস দক্ষিণ আমেরিকা। আজ বিশ্বের নানা ক্রান্তীয় অঞ্চলে এর চাষ হয়—বিশেষ করে কোস্টারিকা, ব্রাজিল, এবং ফিলিপাইন মিলে উৎপাদন করে বিশ্বের এক-তৃতীয়াংশ আনারস। বাংলাদেশে আনারস চাষের ইতিহাসও বেশ চমকপ্রদ। ১৯৪২ সালে মধুপুর উপজেলার ইদিলপুর গ্রামের গারো সম্প্রদায়ের মিজি দয়াময়ী সাংমা ভারতের মেঘালয় থেকে আনারসের চারা এনে প্রথমবারের মতো নিজের বাড়িতে চাষ শুরু করেন। সেখান থেকেই ধীরে ধীরে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে সারাদেশে। সবচেয়ে আশ্চর্যের বিষয়—এখানে রাসায়নিক সার নয়, ব্যবহার হয় জৈব সার। তাই মধুপুরের আনারস গন্ধে, রসে ও গুণে নিঃসন্দেহে সারা দেশের মধ্যে সেরা। মধুপুরের আনারস শুধু একটি ফল নয়—এটি এক সম্ভাবনার নাম। এটি কৃষকের হাসি, প্রকৃতির উপহার, আর টাংগাইল মধুপুরের গর্ব। Madhupur Upazila of Tangail district is known as the "Pineapple Capital" of Bangladesh. The green pineapple gardens spread over miles and miles are like a colorful painting painted by nature. Farmers bring ripe pineapples directly from the fields to this market in vans, autos or bicycles. There are two types of wholesalers in this market—local and those from far and wide. Local wholesalers buy pineapples from farmers and store them together, while distant wholesalers buy them and transport them by truck to different parts of the country—Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, and Dinajpur, including all over the country. Pineapple is a juicy cluster fruit. Its English name is Pineapple, and its scientific name is Ananas comosus. It belongs to the Bromeliaceae family, whose original habitat is South America. Today, it is cultivated in various tropical regions of the world—especially Costa Rica, Brazil, and the Philippines, which together produce one-third of the world's pineapples. The history of pineapple cultivation in Bangladesh is also quite fascinating. In 1942, Miji Dayamoyee Sangma of the Garo community of Idilpur village in Madhupur upazila brought pineapple seedlings from Meghalaya, India, and started cultivating it for the first time in her home. From there, it gradually spread throughout the country. The most surprising thing is that organic fertilizers are used here, not chemical fertilizers. Therefore, the pineapples of Madhupur are undoubtedly the best in the whole country in terms of smell, juice and quality. The pineapple of Madhupur is not just a fruit—it is the name of a possibility.
