Please join us for a Maternity Action Plan (MAP) virtual work session, "Data in Practice: Turning Maternal Health Insight into Action." During this session, there will be two presentations, first, the team from the New Jersey Department of Health’s Maternal Data Center, Chief Data Officer Mehnaz Mustafa, MPH, MSc, Dr. Stephen Firsing and Dr. Jordan Steiner will provide an overview and update on what the Maternal Data Center is, how it collects and uses its data, and how tools such as Hunger, Food Security and Maternal Health Web application, surface  the social determinants of health related to maternal health. The second presentation from Rutgers Institute for Data, Research, and Innovation Science (IDRIS), Professor Fay Cobb Payton, PhD, MBA, will focus on “small data”, collecting community-driven data, and the power of pairing small data with lived experiences. She will also touch on issues raised by AI.
