(manga spoilers) the same thing happened in the final battle between Deku and AFO. after the battle (manga spoilers) when Deku lost his quirk instead of his friends staying by his side they started seeing him as useless/weak since he doesn't have a quirk anymore. Deku left Japan and went to Korea there he met Charles Choi and Charles took him in as his own son and started training him in Martial Arts.
