With a background in both arts high school and music college, NANAJUUHACHI brings a unique, holistic approach to their music—handling everything from trackmaking and production to visual art, collage, and music video direction. Rooted in a background as a jazz bassist, NANAJUUHACHI’s sound is defined by a mellow, groove-laden texture, complemented by a sultry and distinctive "ennui" vocal style. Defying conventional genre boundaries, they have cultivated a unique identity known as the "NANAJUUHACHI style." Since launching their career in 2021, NANAJUUHACHI has released a steady stream of acclaimed tracks, including "QQ" (produced with maeshima soshi). In 2023, they established their own independent label, "9th HEAVEN." In 2024, they launched the "home session" project, where every step of the creative process—from composition to recording and visual production—is self-produced at home, garnering over 1 million views on TikTok. In 2025, NANAJUUHACHI released their highly anticipated first full album, "FLASH FORWARD," followed by successful one-man live performances in Tokyo and Osaka with a minimal band setup.
