Artist Talk: Luc Tuymans and Ory Dessau at Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens
On January 26th, artist Luc Tuymans and curator Ory Dessau were the guests at Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens for an artist talk about Tuymans' installation ENDE, which is on display at MDD until April 6, 2025. During the talk, they discussed the impact of temporary and site-specific art, the boundaries between painting and conceptual installations, and the ongoing dialogue between past and present in contemporary art. Using the installation ENDE as a starting point, Tuymans provided insight into his practice and approach, where he transforms architecture, light, and shadow into powerful visual statements. The session offered an inspiring reflection on his work, the influence of artists such as Blinky Palermo and Edward Hopper, and the role of readymade elements in his oeuvre. Discover the ENDE publication in the MDD shop on our website.
