Starting Monday, a large-scale distribution of humanitarian aid to the local population begins in the annexed Crimean Peninsula and Sevastopol. The Russian Red Cross has prepared specialized kits for distribution to citizens, including food, personal hygiene products, drinking water, and rehabilitation equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and canes. The population is facing critical shortages of basic necessities and a systemic collapse of public services.The most severe situation is being recorded in the northern part of the peninsula. According to local residents, centralized power supply in several settlements has been out for more than nine days straight. The power outage has resulted in widespread disruptions in household gas, drinking water, and reliable mobile phone service.On social media, Crimeans are calling on the occupation administration to immediately announce an official evacuation of the worst-hit areas. They are also demanding that regular supplies of fuel and bottled gas for household needs be promptly established. The situation is exacerbated by reports of increasing looting in communities without power. At the same time, the region has seen a virtual collapse of the summer tourist season. Even targeted subsidies from the federal budget of 4.3 billion rubles, quickly allocated to stabilize the industry, couldn't save it. The flow of tourists has completely disappeared, as no one is rushing to the peninsula. Local analysts agree that the financial injections won't reach businesses, but will simply end up in the pockets of local collaborators. Financial instability in the region has been exacerbated by commercial banks' strict limits on ATM withdrawals, which have effectively paralyzed small-scale retail.An unprecedented surge in energy prices dealt an additional blow to the economy. The retail price of one liter of gasoline at local gas stations in some cases reached a staggering €4.30. This figure is more than double the average retail fuel price in the European Union.The Ukrainian Defense Forces have likely begun a new phase of their operation to isolate temporarily occupied Crimea. Now, not only land supply routes but also Russian vessels providing maritime logistics to the peninsula are under attack.This is stated in a report by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War. Meanwhile, representatives of the ATESH resistance movement reported that the occupation administrations had received orders for urgent evacuation. According to them, such orders were issued, in particular, to Feodosia and Kerch, located near the Crimean Bridge, as well as to several other settlements. According to the underground movement, following the disruption of logistics routes on the peninsula, signs of concern from Russian occupation forces have increased. Experts believe the current attacks on fuel tankers indicate Ukraine's rapid adaptation to changing Russian logistics strategies. Ukraine is now consistently targeting maritime routes, which could further complicate the delivery of fuel and other resources to the peninsula.ISW believes that such actions are aimed at further disrupting Russia's supply chains and gradually cutting off occupied Crimea from its main supply lines.
