Chimp Rescue - Lwiro Primates Sanctuary
A baby chimpanzee is arguably one of the cutest baby animals. However, that cuteness is underpinned by the sad reality that these babies are all orphans, destined for the pet trade. What starts out as “Ah cute! I want one...” results in whole families of chimpanzees being poached in order to get the babies. On top of that, the psychological trauma for creatures as intelligent as they are is akin to what a human child might experience under the same circumstances. The Lwiro Primates Sanctuary with the support of The Ivan Carter Wildlife Conservation Alliance (ICWCA) are doing remarkable work to recover these missing children and rehabilitate them both physically and psychologically. The Chimp Rescue short film illustrates the incredible work that Lwiro Primates Sanctuary is performing everyday to save and protect these animals.
