Lens testing: Natural Light Portrait shoot with Canon 135mm
Hello! It’s been a minute since my last video, huh?! Life has been quite interesting lately—but I’m back and bringing you a fun new video. A lens test with Canon EF 135mm f/2 USM Over the past couple of months, I’ve purchased some new equipment and was looking for a “replacement” for the 70-200mm. I know I can’t technically call it a replacement because these two lenses are in completely different categories, but it’s a replacement for me. I just prefer prime lenses and don’t use the 70-200 as much as I should to justify dragging it around. I’ve been reading review after review and finally decided to just go for it and see for myself. And I must say—I am SO HAPPY I bought it, because it’s just amazing! As a portrait, fashion, and lifestyle photographer, I carry a few lenses with me: 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and now the 135mm. The 85mm has been my most-used lens lately, and I’ve captured some pretty incredible images with it over the past few months—including a cover shoot of my daughter for Vulkan Magazine. I’ll try to create a short video for that soon, since I don’t have much BTS to make a full one. I worked with the sweet Brooke for this video. She’s not a professional model, but she’s absolutely gorgeous and really great at following directions: / brookeephelann The video is a bit longer than I had hoped, but I think it offers some solid info if you're on the fence about purchasing this lens. I'd love to hear from you on what you'd like to see more in these videos so that I can work on better content for you.
