Rivian R1S Delivery Day! First Look at Gen 2 vs My R1T

The day is finally here. Today, I'm saying a bittersweet goodbye to 'Tomater,' my beloved Gen 1 Rivian R1T, and starting a new journey with a brand new Gen 2 Rivian R1S. If you've been following the channel, you know I've been missing a true seven-seater for the family. As much as I love the R1T, the opportunity to get into an R1S was too good to pass up. I'll take you through my entire inspection process, highlighting the good—like the amazing electrochromic roof and improved door feel—and the not-so-good, including some minor paint and interior blemishes we found that will require a follow-up visit. After the delivery, I'll share my initial driving impressions on the way home and compare the incredibly smooth ride of this Gen 2 R1S to my old truck.
