Will Atkinson aged 91 playing in Morpeth Town Hall 1999
Will Atkinson was born January 1908 and died July 2003. He is acknowledged to be the prime exponent of the the traditional moothie (tremolo) style of playing the local music of the North East and the Borders. He lived his life in Northumberland and was one of the Three Musical Shepherds along with Joe Hutton and Willie Taylor. In this concert in 1999 he was accompanied on stage by Alistair Anderson.
