Support for Parents and Carers #4 - Developing a Sensory Circuit for your child
Sensory Integration Theory is an important element of our work at Mayfield. We know that many of our students struggle to assimilate information that comes at them through the senses many of us take for granted. This can inhibit or impair the child's potential during the school day. To counteract this, we aim to ensure that all children are ready and prepared for the challenges of the classroom, and one way of achieving this is to develop a 'Sensory Circuit' for each child that would benefit. Paula, our deputy Headteacher, and Corinne, Indigo Class Teacher, present a short video explaining what is involved in a sensory circuit and how you could carry this out at home. We hope you enjoy and please keep the feedback coming!
