Super Stretchy Crochet Tutorial, Crochet That Looks Like Knit, Ear Warmer Tutorial, Crochet Pattern

Love the look of knit but don't know how? Or maybe you just prefer to crochet.. Then this is the design for you! Super stretchy, knit-like fabric is what makes this a great headband/ear warmer for those cold months. I wear mine in the bitter cold of the Midwest all day long while doing barn chores and it keeps my head nice and warm. This is also a great option if you wear your hair up all the time but don't want to take it down to put on a beanie. It works really well as a 'messy bun hat'. To save time, I made a coffee sleeve for this video. The ear warmer and matching coffee sleeve patterns are identical - the only difference is the number of starting chains. To make a coffee sleeve, start with 16 chains and to make an ear warmer, start with 21 chains. Materials: H8 (5.00mm) crochet hook *I used an H8, however, an I9 (5.50 mm) may be better if you tend to crochet tightly Your favorite worsted weight yarn. I used Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek from Hobby Lobby. Scissors Tapestry needle (for sewing the ends) Skill level: Beginner. Pattern notes: This pattern is written in standard US crochet terms. The chain 1 at the beginning of each round does NOT count as a stitch. IMPORTANT! Make sure your tension is LOOSE. I cannot stress this enough. You are only using slip stitches throughout the pattern and they can easily become too tight to work into. You may also need to go up a hook size if you find your stitches are too tight. *Please note: I used a 5.00mm hook in this video. However, I crochet very loosely by nature so I suggest starting with a 5.5mm hook first. Most of my testers needed a 5.5mm hook.
