Ahmad, 12, Idleb, Syria: “I hope the world can help us get rid of this virus.”
Ahmad is a 12-year-old Syrian boy living at the Al-Tah IDP camp in Idleb Governorate. Having fled war and violence in his village just over a year ago, he and his family now face a new enemy in COVID-19. Ahmad knows little about the virus, but knows it – like the bombs he fled earlier – can also kill. Unable to attend school or play with his friends outside like before, he hopes the world finds a cure for the virus soon.
