Adnan Syed's life sentence reduced to time served after 23 years in prison

Adnan Syed, who was convicted of murdering his former girlfriend Hae Min Lee 25 years ago, learned today that his original life sentence has been reduced to time served. In a statement, Syed's attorney expressed gratitude, saying, "Adnan is grateful that the Judge agreed with his motion to reduce his sentence," and noted that "he was a model candidate for a sentence reduction."
