#sundayreadings #catholicbiblestudy #readingsformass #gospelofjohn #catholicmass The 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time Gospel Reflection Matthew 10:37-42, Year A Jesus sent out His apostles to preach the good news of the Kingdom to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and Jesus tells His disciples that they will face great persecution and to have no fear during those difficult moments. In this context Jesus lays down the conditions for discipleship, we must love our Lord more than our family and we must take up our cross and follow Jesus. These conditions might seem overly demanding; however, when we love Christ above all things then worldly attachments will not impede us from doing His will, and in a complementary manner this will also help us to honor and love our families.
