[+berging] Mobiele torenkraan raakt van de weg net niet in de vaart - Kolonievaart Huis ter Heide

On Tuesday afternoon around 1:30 PM, a driver with his mobile tower crane ended up next to the road at the Kolonievaart, near Huis ter Heide. An excavator was cleaning the ditch. The large mobile tower crane wanted to go around it and went next to the road and just missed falling into the colony canal. The driver was lucky that the car got stuck on the side of the road and therefore just avoided ending up in the canal. The road (N919 between Veenhuizen towards Assen) was closed to all traffic from that moment until late at night. A salvage plan was first drawn up to recover the heavy crane. By 11:00 PM the crane was back on the road to loud applause from the spectators. As it now appears, the crane had little damage and was able to move itself again. The Veenhuizen fire brigade was on site to provide the storage room with extra light. After repairing the shoulder, the fire brigade sprayed the road clean.
