The Quiet Gift of Showing Up | The Power of Simply Being Present with God
In a world obsessed with performance and productivity, we often forget the most powerful thing we can do in our spiritual lives: simply show up. This sermon explores the "Quiet Gift" of presenting ourselves before God—not with a perfect script, but with an authentic, vulnerable, and genuine heart. We often feel we need to have the right words, the right actions, or the perfect life to enter God’s presence. But as we see through figures like Elijah, Hannah, and Job, God honors the faithful act of showing up. It is in the stillness that we recognize His voice, and in our vulnerability that His strength is made perfect. Key Lessons from the Word: Be Still & Listen: Like Elijah, learn to hear God not in the noise, but in the quiet whisper. Drop the Performance: Like Mary, choose the "good portion" of sitting at the feet of Jesus rather than being consumed with "much serving" (Luke 10:38-42). Stay Consistent: Like Hannah, bring your requests year after year, trusting that your presence is valued even before the answer comes. Be Present in Pain: As Job’s friends did (at first), sometimes the greatest ministry is just sitting with someone in their dust and ashes (Job 2:13). This message is a call to return to the foundation: Abiding in His presence. 📖 Scriptures Referenced: Deuteronomy 16:16 Psalm 42:1-2 1 Kings 19 (Elijah) Luke 10:38-42 (Mary & Martha) 1 Samuel 1 (Hannah) Job 2:13 Psalm 51:17 | Psalm 100 | Psalm 69:29-30 2 Corinthians 3:6-8 Hebrews 11:6 Genesis 15:6 🔔 Don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE and hit the bell to receive more encouragement on how to live a life of faith, not fear.
