La mujer más peligrosa de Europa — Rosa Luxemburgo | Historias de Ídolos
Rosa Luxemburg (1871-1919) was one of the most brilliant, courageous, and controversial minds in European political history. Born in Russian-occupied Poland, the daughter of a modest Jewish merchant, she earned a doctorate when women rarely attended university and became the most incisive voice of socialism in her time. This biographical documentary traces her entire life, from the child who learned to read while bedridden to the revolutionary murdered in the streets of Berlin, her body thrown into a canal. Over the course of more than an hour, this work meticulously reconstructs the major stages of her life: her education in exile in Zurich, her alliance with Leo Jogiches, her arrival in Germany, and her famous confrontation with Eduard Bernstein over the debate on reform versus revolution. We analyze her theory of the mass strike, forged in the Russian Revolution of 1905, her great economic work on capital accumulation and imperialism, and her harrowing clash with the betrayal of social democracy in 1914. We pay special attention to her years in prison, her moving letters from prison, and her courageous critique of the Bolsheviks' authoritarian drift, summarized in her enduring idea that freedom is always the freedom of those who think differently. This video is designed as a rigorous yet accessible history lesson for an adult audience interested in European history, political thought, the labor movement, and the role of pioneering women. We present the facts objectively, noting the diverse interpretations of her figure and ideas, and allowing each viewer to draw their own conclusions. Our aim is informative and educational: to understand an essential figure of the twentieth century, whose life continues to resonate with us more than a hundred years later.
