Is This Practical Kitchen Utensil Also the EASIEST to Make?
Ever heard of a spurtle? No I didn't make that word up - turns out that in the search for practical kitchen utensils, I accidentally made myself one. I was trying to make a spatula that was narrower and would be better for stirring. The design I landed on I have since learned is essentially a spurtle. There are tow types of spurtles, one is more spatula like while the other looks like a dowel or honey wand. In this video I will be using my first spurtle creation as a template to make three new cherry spurtles. We start with 3/8" black cherry and make quick work of it with the bandsaw and oscillating edge belt sander.
