On September 22, 2022, the Jessie Ball duPont Fund and Ennis Davis of The Jaxson Magazine hosted this virtual panel discussion and audience Q&A exploring the facts and myths of consolidation, including: What consolidation is, and what it isn't The full breadth of government restructuring that took place during consolidation How Jacksonville compares to other consolidated cities The unexpected outcomes of consolidation Challenges and opportunities we face today as a result of consolidation Speakers: Ennis Davis, AICP Co-founder, The Jaxson Magazine Ennis Davis is a certified senior planner and co-founder of Modern Cities and TransForm Jax, as well as a former citizen member of the Florida Times-Union editorial board. He has served with various organizations committed to improving urban communities, including the American Planning Association and the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. Rick Mullaney Shircliff Executive Director, Jacksonville University Public Policy Institute Rick Mullaney has been involved in a wide variety of public policy initiatives and political campaigns, lectured on legal and public policy topics in more than 20 states, and taught at the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University. He currently teaches a course on Law and Public Policy and provides extensive television and radio commentary on local, state, and national issues. He ran for Mayor of Jacksonville in 2011.
