Now in this lecture, we are covering discharging of capacitor. 00:46 - 10:38 Discharging of Capacitor: ABJ sir derived the current value in RC circuit (without Voltage source) at time t=0, any time t & steady state. He also finds the value of charge at any time t. He also draws the curve charge on the capacitor v/s time. 10:38 - 17:23 Power lost through Resistor: Formulae of power lost are derived by ABJ sir using the basic definition of power: multiplication of square of current & Resistance. The curve of Power v/s time is also drawn by ABJ sir. Complete heat loss can be calculated using the area of the Power & Time curve. 17:54 - 23:16 Important point about energy lost: Energy lost through a resistor in the time interval t = 0 to t = time constant = RC is calculated by ABJ Sir. 23:55 - 34:14 Capacitor with dielectric: Formulae of Capacitance of the Capacitor with a dielectric is derived by ABJ Sir. He also explains the electric field direction & effect of dielectric on the electric field, charge density & charge on the capacitor. Due to the dielectric medium, the capacity to store charge of a capacitor will increase. 34:14 - 45:55 Difference b/w Parameters due to dielectric without Battery: ABJ sir, compare all parameters i.e., Charge on the capacitor, electric field, potential difference, capacitance, Energy density, and energy stored in vacuum & dielectric medium. By this comparison, 46:51 - 58:20 Difference b/w Parameters due to dielectric with Battery: ABJ sir, compare all parameters i.e., Charge on the capacitor, electric field, potential difference, capacitance, Energy density, and energy stored in vacuum & dielectric medium. By this comparison 58:55 - 01:07:19 Two different dielectric medium of different thickness b/w two plates: (Example) ABJ sir explained this concept using an example. In this example, we have two different dielectric medium of dielectric constant K1 & K2 of thickness d1 & d2 respectively. ABJ sir find the value of Capacitance of the capacitor, electric field in both dielectric medium , potential difference b/w plates. This example is a similar case of series combination of two capacitor. 01:07:41 - 01:11:05 Capacitor Problem 1: In this problem there is two metallic plates, b/w these plates there are three different dielectric medium of equal thickness. We have to find the value of capacitance of this capacitor. To solve this problem, 01:11:24 - 01:16:36 Capacitor Problem 2: In this problem there is two metallic plates, b/w these plates there are two different dielectric medium of different area. We have to find the value of capacitance of this capacitor. To solve this problem, ABJ sir assumes this capacitor like two capacitor of different capacitance in parallel combination, and by using the formulae of equivalent capacitance of parallel combination of capacitor , he find the value of capacitance of this capacitor. 01:16:54 - 01:28:32 Capacitor Problem 3: In this problem there is two metallic plates, b/w these plates there are four different dielectric medium according to given diagram. We have to find the value of capacitance of this capacitor.
