At the Bench: The Modularity of the Sony VENICE
Geoff Smith recently had a chance to work with one of our camera service technicians to take a closer look at all of the field-serviceable aspects of Sony's popular VENICE full format (full frame) cinema camera. In the above video, we take a look at common tasks such as removing the PL-mount "shroud" on the VENICE, exposing the locking E-mount behind it, as well as other aspects of the camera's modularity and flexibility. Though AbelCine is a factory-trained and authorized Sony Certified Professional Repair Facility, performing all levels of maintenance and repair including warranty service, what's shown in the video is all fair game for owner/operators, rental technicians, and other equipment managers as far as preparing the camera to work or performing routine maintenance and cleaning.
