Trainspotting at Askham Bar P&R, ECML, 08/03/2025

A rather enjoyable day of filming at the Askham Bar Park and Ride site, located just south of York on 8th March 2025. I haven’t filmed at this location for almost a full year now, simply because I just lost interest in coming here, however while the sun was out, I thought I’d revisit to see what was about. I filmed here in the morning to capture the intermodal train and the two LNER 225’s, and returned later in the evening. This video features the regular services from TPE, LNER, Northern and Grand Central, as well as two light Freightliner locomotives and an intermodal train hauled by a DRS Class 68. On this day, there was engineering works taking place north of York, hence why most services were terminating there. Unfortunately there is no action from CrossCountry Trains in this video as they were not operating any services beyond Leeds, presumably due to the engineering works on the East Coast Mainline. Trains featured: TransPennine Express Class 185’s & 802 Nova 1’s LNER Class 800 & 801 Azuma’s LNER Class 91’s / InterCity 225’s Grand Central Class 180 Northern Class 150 & 155’s Freightliner Class 66’s DRS Class 68 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------— Thanks for watching.
