The Business of Broken 40K

Warhammer 40,000 has never been bigger, but has it become a better game? In this video, I examine the idea that Games Workshop may have little financial incentive to create a perfectly balanced and stable version of 40K. From codex creep and overpowered releases to constant FAQs, point changes, and edition resets, modern 40K often feels like a game in permanent development. We'll look at older GW titles like Warmaster, Mordheim, and Space Hulk, compare past and present editions of 40K, and discuss how shifting metas encourage players to keep buying new models. Is this simply the reality of maintaining a massive tabletop game, or is instability part of the business model? Whether you're a competitive player, casual hobbyist, veteran grognard, or someone who left the hobby years ago, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Do you think Games Workshop benefits from keeping the meta in constant flux? Leave a comment below.
