Pizza by the Brook: Titanium Firebox Stove in Oven-Mode
A late-day hike into the woods leads to making pizza near a rushing brook with the early spring chill hanging in the air. Firecraft (ie. sawing, batoning, and making feathersticks), site prep, and configuring the titanium Firebox stove into oven-mode is followed by a crackling fire started with balsam pitch and birch bark. Frying bacon gives way to a simmering pizza sauce of tomato paste, spinach, garlic, onions and olives. Topped with a layer of manchego cheese, assembled pizzas turn golden and bubbly in the impromptu pizza-oven. The meal finishes off with our bushcraft tradition, a kettle of balsam tea. #outdoorcouple #fireboxstove #alwaystimefortea
