В Уральске закрыли единственный бесплатный пляж в городском парке

The park administration (formerly Kirov Park) announced that access to the water has been closed "for safety reasons." Management cites a lack of capacity and the need to employ a full-time lifeguard. The beach has already been fenced off, and when asked what will happen in its place, the answer was short: "Nothing." Local media report that the city administration announced that this section is being closed by decision of the emergency commission. This beach has existed in one form or another since Soviet times. I believe the decision to close it is fundamentally wrong and even dangerous. People, especially children, will still look for ways to cool off in the heat, but now they will be heading to wild, completely unsuitable, and dangerous sections of the river. As for the commercial beaches in the park, not all Ural residents can afford to pay a daily entrance fee. Officials and park management need to think ahead: fencing it off is the easiest option, but this will not solve the safety problem; it will only exacerbate it. I ask the park administration and the city administration to find funds, hire a lifeguard, and preserve the only free beach for city residents.
