Southern Brown Turkey - Wildly Underrated Fig Variety
This is a quick update on my biggest potted tree, which is an old Southern Brown Turkey I bought at Lowe’s several year ago. SBT is a wildly underrated cultivar, as it produces loads of deliciously sweet floral peachy figs throughout the summer and fall. It is disregarded because of its name (“Brown Turkey” can refer to one of 3 distinct cultivars), but should be in every southern growers’ collections for its hardiness and high productivity.
