Let's Active - "Leader of Men" - Drive-In, Winston, Salem, N.C. - 11/01/84

The story behind the beat. Mitch recounts the reason of the rhythm in "Leader of Men" to drummer Jay Peck as they, along with Faye Hunter and Tim Lee rehearse at the Drive-In Studio for Let's Active's Cypress Tour. I.R.S. Records had engaged me to make a video for "Waters Part". I hung out with them for a couple of days getting footage and this particular run through was for cutaways of Faye and Jay. For such an unassuming band they are powerful and precise. I tried to be a fly on the wall but it was more like an elephant in the middle of the room. They were courteous and accommodating and I am privileged to have witnessed it. There isn't much documentation of this tour, so hopefully this will fill in some blanks.
