Chasing the MBTA Office Car Special with Double Heritage Units!
On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the MBTA ran an office car special train to New Haven, CT and back. The consist featured MBTA heritage units #1071 (New Haven) and #1036 (New York Central). I caught them as they deadheaded through Newmarket, shoved into South Station, went south through Ruggles, and returned north through Forest Hills. Enjoy!
