00:00 - Introduction 01:39 - Liturgical Language of the Orthodox Church 05:38 - Church Slavonic 06:59 - Church Chant 10:26 - Methods of (Melo)Recitation 11:31 - Icons 14:00 - Church Architecture 16:11 - Liturgical Rites and Gestures In this material, I talk about language in the Orthodox Church; it's always a controversial topic in the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church. But language understood more broadly, not only as speech – although I devoted half of the material to this topic – but also in broader terms, such as iconography and liturgical chant. I want to show that we are united by faith, but certain ways of expressing it differ due to historical, cultural, climatic, etc. factors. And I'd like to add that I've had the blessing of God to participate in Orthodox services in various languages, with brothers and sisters of faith from very different backgrounds. This always enriches me and encourages me to learn more about my own neighborhood. In the case of Poland, we also have the issue of "dusting off" our own ancient traditions while simultaneously looking to others – although the natural interpenetration of various rites and traditions has always been there, as I mentioned… And, finally, setting aside the fact that, due to my background, family, and life decisions, I don't know what "my backyard" is ;) You can support me by buying me a symbolic coffee (I admit, it will be useful): https://buycoffee.to/pocojescskoromoz... #Churchlanguage #ChurchSlaviclanguage #ChurchSlavic #icons #iconography #hymnography #Churchmusic #Churchsinger #Churcharchitecture #Orthodoxy #Orthodoxchurch #Orthodoxchurch #Churchlanguage ...
