Here's a problem I've noticed for years and it still seems to be a problem. It's never going to be a good idea to pour a concrete porch or set of stairs next to wood siding or structural framing. Moisture can accumulate in concrete and then absorb into the wood and if this happens long enough can create wood rot and even attract termites.
