Lion Leopard Rain 獅豹雨

Taiwan Fantasy — "Lion Leopard Rain" Composer: Jia-Jing Lin (Rolabo Lin) Date: March 24, 2024 Location: Huludun Cultural Center Concert Hall, Taichung City Convectional rain is a typical summer climate in Taiwan. It can escalate from a few drops of rain to a downpour in the blink of an eye, and the sudden stop of the rain often comes without warning. Only the most seasoned Taiwanese can avoid the predicament of getting soaked. Originally, convectional rain referred to thunderstorms occurring in the summer afternoons when the sun sets in the northwest. Due to its fierce intensity, likened to wild beasts, it is also called "Lion Leopard Rain." "Taiwan Fantasy" is an innovative program by the Judy's Harmonica Ensemble, combining "original music" and "animation," setting it apart from traditional concerts. "Taiwan Fantasy" is a series of works by ensemble member Jia-Jing Lin, created over five years and inspired by Taiwan’s local scenery, customs, weather, culture, and folk songs. The series includes seven titled pieces: Spring, Steam Train, Giant Tree, Lion Leopard Rain, The Haunted Winding Road, Buddhist Hymns, and Taiwanese Opera Virtuoso.
