James Chesterman & Company Ltd Bow Works - Part 3: Farewell Dinner Dance, Friday 20 Apr 1990 (2025)

This film is the third of three documenting the closure of Bow Works. It is a film made of the final social occasion, a farewell dinner and dance at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Sheffield held by the company to mark its closure. Whilst the film and sound quality is relatively poor by today's standards it provides a fascinating piece of social history for ex-employees, friends and family to identify people employed by Chestermans at closure. Part 1 and Part 2 which are also available provides film footage of Bow Works externally and internally just before closure after 125 years of production by a company whose name was synonymous with high-quality measuring instruments like tapes, callipers, and squares.
