How I Mix Psytrance: Full On Psytrance Mix ॐ May 2013

I will be mixing 10 tracks but not in the traditional linear way. Most of the time there will be 2 tracks going at the same time, coming back and forth, etc. The advantages of this kind of mixing are: 1. Mashuping multiple tracks at the same time makes the mix more interesting and powerful. 2. You decide when to throw a break, not the track. It's kind of annoying to have a break every 3 minutes (if you're mixing one song into another linearly). 3. You can create dynamic build-ups on the fly. 4. Kind of re-editing the tracks live. 5. It's way more creative, versatile and, of course, fun. Disadvantages? 1. Well, it takes practice =) As I said, this is just an example of how I like to mix psytrance. The techniques are still under development and I believe they will always be evolving. This is my answer to how, IMHO, psytrance mixing has not evolved at all compared to other electronic music genres. You can see lots of DJs doing crazy stuff in pretty any other style, but for some reason, psytrance DJs only tend to barely mix one track into the next and that's it.... which is kind of boring nowadays. So, up to you know... Do you think psytrance live mixing should evolve? Have you noticed the difference with other genres? What do you think about those "live acts" where the producer just plays his album tracks from start to end? And just, what's your thoughts on the subject? Thanks!
