My New Favorite Track Weathering Technique - How I Do Stuff Series
Recently, I had the opportunity to volunteer my labor services on the KCS/L&A Hope Subdivision layout, a huge, full basement layout being constructed here in Wichita. This was my first time volunteering to help build someone else's layout, and I didn't really know what to expect, especially with me not having near the experience of the other modelers present. Well, within about 10 minutes of my arrival, I was quickly shown a track weathering method that proved to be considerably better than my own, and I spent the better part of the next two hours weathering wooden ties on Paul Shattuck's layout, and enjoyed every minute of it. I decided to bring this newly-learned method home to the Kansas & Western and have adopted it as my own moving forward. Thank you to Brad Hoeme for teaching me this method.
