AI IS GOING TO DESTROY PHILOSOPHY AND NO ONE IS PAYING ATTENTION

I tried to fix the AI Stoicism channels. I asked an AI to write me a script that got the philosophy right. It gave me every error this series has spent ten essays dismantling, generated in seconds, with perfect fluency. That is not a bug. A large language model produces the most probable next word. Its training data is two thousand years of the wrong version. The accurate version is a statistical outlier. The system is engineered to kill outliers. Now scale this to every idea the majority has ever misunderstood and ask what happens when the machine that answers every question on earth is architecturally incapable of producing the minority reading. The rare version. The corrective. The thing that was actually said. This is not about Stoicism. This is about what happens to human knowledge when the primary interface for encountering ideas can only reproduce the most common version of them. The output is pre-averaged. You are pre-conditioned. Both sides of the encounter loaded to the same framework before you arrive. The singular impression that would break the loop has been statistically optimized out of existence. This is the essay I did not want to make. — Sources — Goldschmidt, Le Système stoïcien et l'idée de temps §§44-45 Long & Sedley, The Hellenistic Philosophers §27 Sextus Empiricus, Against the Professors VIII.11-12 Deleuze, Logic of Sense, First and Second Series — Tags — #ai #philosophy #stoicism #llm #chatgpt #partialobjects #knowledge #framework
